Working with Dee on this project was a fantastic decision for us. By following a methodical and structured approach I feel that we have balanced a number of key areas – utility of the space, the cost and the design elements to give it the wow factor. By working with her, we were forced to consider ideas early, which meant that we had time to properly investigate the various elements. This was in stark contrast to a previous project, where we rushed a number of key decisions as the builders needed answers in order to progress.

Dee considered our specific requirements and weaved these into her designs and ideas when she could, but she also had the integrity to tell us when she thought certain elements wouldn’t work and suggested alternatives. Throughout the process Dee provided us with innovative ideas that we never would have come up with on our own.

Dee used her experience to recommend products, which we never would have thought to put in the scheme and which often saved us money – double win! Further, Dee was super flexible with what she offered us. Not only did she excel with the artistic side, but she was also able to help with the more technical aspects such as electrical plans and scale drawings. This was a massive benefit and made it straightforward for our builders.

For about 3 years we were really struggling with how to layout our house. We had rough ideas of what we’d like but Dee’s questionnaire was really helpful in getting us to really think about what we want.
During our Clarity Consultation, we had a good discussion around understanding our needs. Dee then helped us by listening to our ideas and discussing how the layout could potentially work in a way that meets our needs. It's taken us 3 years to try and figure out something. Dee solved it in an hour.

Before (we met Dee) our planning permission was rejected, we were focused on improving the internal and spatial layout of our ground floor to give our growing family sufficient living space. Knowing that extensions in London are costly, we wanted to maximise the space we had, but stick to our budget. However, we felt a little lost and intimidated as we had never worked with a spatial architect before.
Making informed decisions has always been important to us, so it made sense for us to work with a specialist.
We looked at a few options, but when we met Dee we immediately felt like we were in good hands. Dee guided us throughout the entire process and made us feel confident and helped us figure out what we should do next.

We already had planning permission in place before meeting Dee, but felt the design would not actually improve the way we live. We were going around in circles trying to come up with how to make things work for us.
We liked the way Dee described her work online. But we were even more impressed when we spoke face to face. Dee was able to easily pull from us what we want, when we were sometimes not clear in describing that ourselves.

Other architects just seem to work on getting as big a space as possible, regardless of whether that space is actually usable in the intended way. Whereas, Dee’s process challenged us to actually think about why we wanted spaces, and what they would be used for.

Rather than thinking of our home as this box is the kitchen, this box is the lounge and these are the dimensions. We love how Dee came up with ideas we didn’t consider, and that will give us both a better flow through our home, while actually leaving the spaces larger and more usable as well. The 3D sketches Dee created really brought the design to life. It allowed us to visualise how spaces will be used, and how they connect to one another.

By having a structured process to follow, it kept us focused, and helped us to be clear on what we want, and more importantly, how we will use our home. We now feel very confident in making the best decisions that will have a positive impact on how we live as a family. This is in contrast to how we previously thought, where we just focused on what we liked the look of.

Now we know how to work towards a goal that will suit us, and result in our home becoming actually 'Our home. By us, for us, to suit us.'
We are very excited and eager to get started. We can't wait to see the end result.

Dee was a great fit for us when we worked on our new master bedroom and ensuite. We wanted to achieve the ‘wow’ factor throughout each of the spaces and Dee’s approach and designs helped us create this.

We had many challenges with our space, mainly the size of the room as each available space has been very compact. Dee’s expertise of designing spaces helped us include everything we wanted to fit in the room so that it has become a great functional master suite.

Dee guided us through the design process from start to finish.
She understood our style very well and as a result we purchased many of the products she selected as we couldn’t find anything better! This meant she had spent a lot of time doing the research so we didn’t have to!

The mood boards and elevations Dee produced for us for each area of the room has helped to bring the spaces to life and allowed us to make quick decisions and in turn this has kept the project progressing at a great pace. The elevations for the ensuite helped us ensure the very small area we had available would fit everything in that we had wanted and ensure the overall look was not compromised.

We wanted it to feel luxurious and give impact but in such a small space this can be difficult to achieve without it feeling cluttered. Dee’s elevations helped us to make informed decisions by allowing us to see what each of the ideas would look like. This gave us a great way of choosing the right layout to ensure each area will be practical and effective in the compact space as well as getting a really high-end look as a result.

The best aspect of the whole process has been the amazing communication we have received from Dee. She took time with us on the phone and she has used a messaging service with us so we have been able to share ideas quickly. This was especially helpful when seeing products in shops or receiving samples from online providers as we were able to send pictures and links quickly to keep her updated. Dee would also send us options and her thoughts which all helped us in our final selections. She was very responsive with messages and as the whole project has been managed by her remotely, this has been invaluable to us as it has allowed us to feel confident in our decisions and purchases.

Nothing has been too much for Dee and she has offered so much advice and guidance, using her own experiences and expertise to guide us in the right direction.
